Went to the Grand Designs Live Show at the Excel Centre in London yesterday. Was an awesome show! So many cool, fresh, innovative designs to be seen, from indoor furniture, to outdoor swimming pools, to installations of a house interior or garden! There was so much to see, to take in, I probably have a million leaflets and business cards from the day! It’s the kind of show you walk round and either think, wow, I’d love to be able to design things like this one day, or you think, when I’m older and (obviously) a millionaire I’m going to buy all of these things as this is what would be in my dream home…! For me it was a mix of both.. I wanted EVERYTHING there, yet it also inspired me to carry on working hard at uni as these people have accomplished these things and worked their way up, so obviously it’s possible if you really want it! (I also collected a load of architect’s business cards as a few of them said I could come and work with them if I wanted some work experience! Success!)
Had such a fun day yesterday with the boyfriend! Spent the whole day in Milton Keynes… First we did a bit of shopping in the MK Centre (so many shops in there it’s like heaven). M tried on loads of clothes (Bf referred to as M from now on.) Its summer so a new wardrobe is needed ;D Bought some face cream from the Body Shop, bought some Krispy Kremes, tried some Pretzel from the Mr Pretzel stall (highly recommend people try these if haven’t.) and lastly got some lunch and sat out in the sun with it.
Then we carried on to the Indoor skydiving centre, where M experienced this for the first time! (My Christmas present to him). Looked sooo cool- there was a HUGE fan that lifted you up so you could feel what it would be like to do an actual skydive. The instructor (who looks like Tom Hardy) helped you and taught you tricks and so on. I was only watching from the glass outside, one day I think I’d like to try it as it did look awesome- however I was happy watching first time ;)
We then carried on to Ikea and went from room to room acting out scenes of us living in the room (making dinner and so on), ended up waiting 40 mins for a stupid cushion we wanted, and then ate dinner in the restaurant there. The drive back was a few hours, and we listened to Olly Murs (my choice, hehe), and got home quite late.
All in all, good day- to those of you that read- go and watch/try Indoor skydiving (may be the closest you get to an actual skydive!), it looked like real fun, and M definitely recommends it!
